Effective September 2, 2026
This policy explains what Heater Stats (“Heater Stats,” “we,” “us”) collects when you use https://www.heaterstats.com (the “Service”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Heater Stats is operated by Nicholas Ortiz, doing business as Heater Stats. If you have questions, email support@heaterstats.com.
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address, your name if you provide it, and an account identifier. Sign-in is handled by Clerk, our authentication provider, which also records the date you signed up and basic sign-in security data (such as the IP address and browser used to sign in).
Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We store what we need to know what you have paid for: a Stripe customer identifier, your plan, its status, the current billing period, and the email address on the payment.
Things you save. Players and teams you follow, and similar preferences you set in the Service.
Usage and technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps server logs that include your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and timestamps. We use these for security, debugging, and aggregate understanding of which features are used.
Data kept only in your browser. The Guess the Player game keeps your streak and results in your browser’s local storage. That data stays on your device and is not sent to us.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, which pages are visited and how people arrive. It sets its own cookies and records your IP address, the pages you view, and general device and location information (country/region level, not precise location). We do not send it your name, email, or account identifiers, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
We do not collect payment card numbers, government identifiers, or precise location. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not run ads.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with the providers that run the Service on our behalf, each bound to use it only for that purpose:
We may also disclose information if required by law or legal process, to protect the rights, property, or safety of Heater Stats or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case this policy continues to apply to your data).
We use strictly necessary cookies set by Clerk to keep you signed in and to protect your session. We use browser local storage for the game and for small interface preferences. Google Analytics sets analytics cookies to tell repeat visits apart; these are not strictly necessary, and you can block them with your browser’s settings, a content blocker, or Google’s own opt-out browser add-on without affecting the Service. We do not use advertising cookies. Blocking the Clerk cookies will prevent sign-in.
We keep account data for as long as your account exists and for a reasonable period afterwards to handle disputes and support. We keep billing records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Server logs are retained for a limited period by our hosting provider. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time (see section 6).
The Service is for adults. You must be at least 21 to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Data is encrypted in transit, sign-in is handled by a dedicated authentication provider, and payments are handled by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data we will notify you as the law requires.
Heater Stats is operated from the United States and our providers store data in the United States. If you use the Service from elsewhere, you understand your data is transferred to and processed in the U.S.
We will post any changes to this policy here and update the effective date. For material changes we will also notify account holders by email or an in-app notice.
